Collision, Salvage and Pollution

Our team includes solicitors who, in addition to extensive legal expertise, also have valuable seagoing experience (including an ex classification society surveyor) hence we are able to bring considerable practical knowledge to bear when dealing with the many complex issues raised when casualties occur. In particular, we have extensive experience in handling collisions, groundings, salvage, and general and particular average issues. We are also experienced in handling major pollution incidents and have detailed knowledge of the workings of the Civil Liability Conventions in the various South East Asian jurisdictions. We have strong links with many of the major shipping lines operating in the far east and we are available on a 24 hour basis to assist on all aspects of admiralty law.

We advise on international trade disputes both in the context of court proceedings and arbitrations. Often multi jurisdictions are involved and our international network is a tremendous asset in undertaking work of this nature. Our clients are mostly major international traders and suppliers in commodities, oil and gas, and manufactured products. Given the nature of international trade, we often advise on banking and documentary credit related issues, which may involve making urgent applications for injunction orders or resisting the same, as the case may be.
