STEVEN BIRTSteven
is the head of the firm's Intellectual Property Department. He qualified as a
solicitor in Hong Kong in 1995 and England and Wales in 1993, and was made a partner
in 2000. He has experience in all aspects of Intellectual Property, in both contentious
and non-contentious matters, from both a regulatory and enforcement perspective.
Steven has been involved in several Government consultations and lobbies for changes
in the law, and his practice includes advising on the IP aspects of Media, Entertainment

Before joining Richards Butler in 2006, Emma was head of the Clifford Chance aircraft
finance practice for the Asian region from 2001. She has over 14 years of experience

Howse is the senior partner of Richards Butler Hong Kong. He specialises in maritime
and commercial litigation and arbitration including charterparty and bill of lading
